The shipment of productivity AI chipsets in mobile and PC markets starts in 2024, in line with the production of heterogenous AI chipsets to support productivity AI workloads. These devices, capable of handling generative AI workloads on-device, are powered by chipsets like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the smartphone segment, and Intel’s Core Ultra processors in notebooks and desktops. The adoption of devices containing heterogenous AI chipsets is set to accelerate between now and 2028, but immaturity in the application ecosystem will slow early adoption rates. As more applications leverage generative AI to support productivity, consumers and enterprises are expected to purchase new devices.
