On-device Gen AI will be key to launching a plethora of productivity applications that will restimulate market demand for mobile devices. Shipments of smartphones with Gen AI chips are expected to increase significantly in 2024, reaching more than 90 million, accounting for over 7% of total smartphone sales. By 2032, that number will soar to nearly 1.1 billion shipments and a 79% penetration rate, symbolizing on-device AI becoming standard.
