The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent work-from-home policies alerted millions more consumers to the world of Wi-Fi coverage extension. The most encouraging solution for residential Wi-Fi extension is mesh networks, promising a seamless system that is much more resilient than a traditional Wi-Fi network. By the end of 2022, there will be 33.9 million shipments of Wi-Fi mesh network equipment, according to ABI Research. By 2026, that number will be 59 million annual shipments, which signals the full embracement of this technology.

Fleet telematics is one of the most important aspects of operating a modern business. Supply chain bottlenecks, such as delays and damaged goods, cost companies a substantial amount of money every year and telematics mitigates those risks. Unfortunately, connected vehicles present potential security vulnerabilities that bad actors may take advantage of. ABI Research recently looked at how Vehicle Manufacturers (VMs), which fall under the sphere of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry, keep their telematics data secure in the Secure Data Management in Automotive Telematics research analysis report.
Using Warehouse Management Systems for Automation

The global supply chain disruption has made executives realize that their logistics operations can go into a state of disorder at any time. To make their supply chains more resilient and adaptable, company leaders are leveraging the automation benefits that come with Warehouse Management Systems (WMSs). Impressively, revenue in the WMS market will increase from US$3.4 billion in 2022 to US$10.7 billion in 2030, according to ABI Research’s Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Software research analysis report—Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), retailers, and manufacturers are investing in this technology the most.
Using KPIs to Provide Better Smart City Management Solutions

The smart city landscape is quite fragmented and presents some challenges, so standardization is incredibly vital to successful solutions implementation. Part of that much-needed standardization are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which set the benchmark to strive for. By knowing what results smart city deployments should be sustaining, city planners can identify their strengths and weaknesses, and make the most informed smart city management decisions.

When a company decides to introduce new technology to its operations, they’re also introducing new digital security vulnerabilities that cybercriminals will try to prey upon. As a result, there is rapid growth in the cybersecurity market. ABI Research forecasts that, compared to the 75,000 Hardware Security Module (HSM) shipments in 2021, there will be 125,000 shipments in 2026. Much of the attention is being paid to industrial cybersecurity and manufacturing security. From protecting customer payment credentials to supply chain telematics, cybersecurity is one of the most important aspects of the modern business and there are a few trends worth watching.
