Start-up HAPS & GEO Constellation Plans to Target the Unconnected in Asia with Innovative Broadband Access

Airbus, NTT DOCOMO, and SKY Perfect JSAT are joining forces to integrate High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellite constellation to offer a range of Direct-to-Cellular (D2C), backhaul, and edge computing services. This novel application of a Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) architecture could allow GEO satellite constellations to compete with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites such as Starlink.
