Seeq AI Assistant and Vantage Prove the Convergence of Gen AI and Industrial Monitoring Solutions

NEWS

Industrial data analytics software provider Seeq released two major additions to its existing repertoire of solutions in the form of AI Assistant and Vantage. AI Assistant (released February 29) is a virtual Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) assistant focusing on speeding up the time to proficiency for new users of the Seeq platform, along with providing insights into current factory operations and resolutions for time-sensitive impediments. This release not only instantiates the company’s push into transformative technology, such as Gen AI, but how this new technology can be best leveraged with existing and upcoming software. Vantage (released May 7) is the first step Seeq is taking into industrial enterprise monitoring, utilizing both Seeq Industrial Analytics and AI Suite to ensure data are sufficiently stored, consolidated, and put to action. Seeq is targeting this new market segment as data are increasingly becoming a hot commodity with manufacturers understanding the value lost by not utilizing insight from previous and historic data produced over years of production.

Seeq Takes Aim at Common Manufacturing Concerns to Provide Quick Value

IMPACT

With AI Assistant, Seeq is actively decreasing the learning curve for new employees, while increasing worker efficiency and confidence. AI Assistant provides step-by-step work instructions on how to effectively navigate Seeq software, along with providing guiding advice on next steps for employees unfamiliar with utilizing data analytics. The inception of AI Assistant comes from Seeq identifying common pain points manufacturers are facing when adopting new data analytics solutions. The biggest issue manufacturers are facing is the slow ramp-up times for new employees utilizing data analytics software, along with a lack of industry knowledge on how to appropriately and effectively use data analytic tools.

For industrial enterprise monitoring, engineers and plant managers are challenged with how to prioritize issues with performance, reliability, and sustainability, along with how to manage inefficiencies of siloed data and machine downtime. Vantage is especially built to counteract these common issues for manufacturers by providing an overarching view of tasks with priority statuses so workers can effectively tackle problems with no time loss. Additionally, Vantage stores and utilizes historic data for insights into operational performance and enhanced decision-making for manufacturers in process and extractive industries, such as Chevron, Duke Energy, Pfizer, and Shell.

Seeq Is Trailblazing a New Path that Others Will Look to Replicate

RECOMMENDATIONS

The prevalence of Gen AI has made data an invaluable resource for manufacturers looking to eke out production performance gains and worker efficiency value. For a successful deployment of Gen AI, training models on both business-specific and industry-specific data is required for the best actionable insight. Due to this importance of data for Gen AI, Seeq is in a unique position as a leader in data analytics for process and extractive industries. With the deployment of Vantage, Seeq has laid the fundamental groundwork for consolidating, contextualizing, and enriching data for appropriate use by both employees and now Gen AI. By entering into industrial monitoring for process and extractive industries, Seeq has broadened its potential customer base and is giving current clients additional capabilities to ensure all bases are covered and manufacturers can take advantage of the full breadth of Seeq solutions.

Currently, Seeq is in a small cohort of data analytics providers using Gen AI, the incorporation of which will become more prolific as manufacturers realize the efficiency value of adoption and fear the ramifications if competitors are faster in making the transition ( see ABI Research’s Generative AI Solutions for Discrete Manufacturing presentation (PT-3233)). In order to be unique in the market and maintain leadership status, Seeq needs to continue building out Gen AI use cases that promote worker proficiency and keep humans-in-the-loop as the central driver for further development. Given the current maturity of Gen AI, humans-in-the-loop use cases are still a top priority as trust in automating critical manufacturing processes is not yet considered reliable enough for Gen AI to operate without human intervention. With the release of AI Assistant and Vantage, Seeq is enabling manufacturers to utilize data assets to their fullest extent, providing value through quickly identifying production issues and creating rectifying solutions. From the market perspective, Seeq has strengthened its position as a standout data analytics provider with Gen AI capabilities and an industrial enterprise monitoring solution that other vendors in the space should look to replicate.
