Partners in Crime: Consilient and Intel Link to Improve Automatic Fraud Detection Mechanisms, Lowering the Rate of False Positives Currently Hampering the Industry

Financial fraud and money laundering account for a significant percentage of the world’s annual gross domestic product, and some automatic FRAUD detection processes currently in use return an inadequate rate of 95% of false positives. Consilient, in partnership with Intel, has combined federated learning with Intel’s SGX engine to lower this rate to below 60%—hopefully proving to be an important tool in fraud detection, though only in combination with other policies and measures (i.e., legislation and law enforcement).
