The Total Addressable Market (TAM) spans a variety of device form factors, including smartphones, wearables, AR/VR devices, autonomous vehicles, robots, and battery-constrained devices, such as tags used for assets and personal tracking.

In the enterprise market, early deployments will be mainly over public networks for supporting certain use cases. However, 5G positioning is unlikely to hit the mass market any time before 2026 when 5G Advanced will be commercially available.

In the consumer market, 5G positioning will be deployed to augment the accuracy of other technologies or to extend the area of coverage beyond constrained indoor environments. However, it will take time for the 5G positioning ecosystem to build beyond the smartphone market.
