This table showcases the forecast increase of electricity generation by HPPs globally, which increases globally from 4,327.8 TWh in 2020 to 4,926.6 TWh in 2027. North America constitutes the largest percentage of power production at 39.5% by 2027, followed by Europe and Asia with 22.5% and 18.5% respectively. Based on the growth of the connections, it is possible to assume, that hardware (sensors) and software (analytics and ML) services will continue growing. As connections grow, the amount of real-time and historical data will also increase; hence, real-time visibility and optimized storage and analytics will be in prime demand. However, it is expected, that only 18.9 GW of affectional generated capacity in 2020 to 2030 will come from brownfield projects; whereas 210.7 GW of additional capacity
will be generated by greenfield projects, the majority of which are expected to take place in Asia.
