HPE Aruba Networking is a major 802.11 innovator and exerts a significant influence on the development of the industry. Recent firsts include being the earliest to release an enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 6E AP, namely the 630 series of campus APs that hit the market in May 2021. A notable example of the company leading the industry was the central role it played in developing standard power 6 GHz. HPE Aruba Networking was one of the major driving forces advocating for unlicensed access to the band globally and developed an early AFC system prototype in partnership with Federated Wireless, which was demonstrated to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) back in 2019. Its Wi-Fi 6E AP-655 was also used for the industry’s first demonstration of standard power 6 GHz transmissions using an AFC system in 2022.
